A Few Updates
Well, if you didn’t do it, it’s too late. If you didn’t take twenty seconds out of your life and sign up to perform in this year’s festival you are officially out of luck. Signup closed on All Fools Day, midnight. The good news is that we’ve got a pretty full boat. Most events are at capacity and that’s a good thing. It shows that this community cares about its festival and wants it to continue. And it will, as long as the support is there. Which brings me to my next point. Over in the sidebar, I’ve added a link to the 2010 Edmonton Poetry Festival membership form. A membership will run you a whopping TEN BUCKS. Ten bucks. I bet you spend that much on coffee in a week. Isn’t poetry more important than standing in line with your fellow good-smelling shaved apes at Tim Hortons?
Here’s a rundown of what membership buys you:
It’s not for a glossy newsletter or the member discounts … but you will get:
- A membership card.
- Free admission to events at Found in Translation, including Hip-Hop Heart. Beat and Findings, the Saturday night gala.
- E-mail updates on what’s happening with the festival.
- The rosy glow of knowing you’re loved and appreciated by the Society.
Fill in the application form, mail it to us, and feel the warm fuzzies surround you. And trust me, you want these kind of warm and fuzzies.
More updates to follow…keep your ears to the ground.
