The Edmonton Youth Poetry Slam announces a series of spoken word workshops for teens! Do you like to write poetry? Are you interested in performing? Want to combine the two together?

Join us for a series of four workshops that will bring together Edmonton youth to focus on writing spoken word, with a finale showcase performance on April 26 at the Edmonton Poetry Festival. Workshops will be lead by members of the Edmonton spoken word community. April 10 will feature guest workshop leader and Edmonton Poet Laureate, Cadence Weapon.

Help us grow the Edmonton spoken word poetry community to include youth.

What you need to know:

  • Come to Stanley Milner Library
  • Bring a pen and paper
  • Get ready to write and perform your words
