Call for BYOV Submissions! | Edmonton Poetry Festival

Edmonton has an incredibly rich and diverse poetry community. Each year we are amazed by the local talent we encounter at PoFest and other events throughout the year. This year, we invite local poets to submit proposals for Bring Your Own Venue (BYOV) events to kick off the Edmonton Poetry Festival on Sunday, April 22nd, 2018! Our theme this year is “Your Voice Here”!

Here are the proposal guidelines:

All BYOV events will take place on Sunday April 22, 2018.
There are five available event slots.
The deadline to submit your proposal is Friday, December 15^th, 2017.
This opportunity is open to Edmonton poets/groups only.
You are responsible for finding your own venue, paying your artists, managing your tickets, and finding your own volunteers. We help market your event. You will be featured on our official schedule and in the Festival program.

In your BYOV event proposal, please include the following:

Your name and contact information.
An event title and description.
Estimated length of the event.
Who you will invite to be a part of the event.
An idea for a venue (to be confirmed later).

The Edmonton Poetry Festival programming committee will choose five BYOV events to be included in our program by January 12, 2017. Once we confirm the time with you, it’s “set in stone.” We look forward to your awesome BYOV submissions!
