Back in October 2011, the Edmonton Poetry Festival and Edmonton Transit issued a call for submissions for a new round of bus poems. We are pleased to report that the selection process is complete and the poems are up and rolling in Edmonton Transit vehicles.

The challenge was open to students aged 8 to 18 in the Edmonton area, and the poems had to be centered around winter fun – ice hockey, skating, skiing, sledding, ringette, the Olympics, building snow forts, making snow angels, or any other activity winter makes possible.

We are extremely proud of this latest crop of poems. You should read the entire writeup here for all the details.

And hey, just to put the bug in your ear, The Edmonton Poetry Festival 2012 is heating up. The powers that be have plugged in their block heaters and started to make things happen for the festival (running from April 23 – 29, 2012). Stay tuned for the exciting details!
