Remember a while back when we posted a call for poets to participate in a visual art project? Well, the call was answered and the project is opening on April 8. Here is the official blurb:

Imagine That

See art come alive in words! The Edmonton Poetry Festival has teamed up with Arch Enterprises to bring poetry and visual art together. Arch is a non-profit organization providing innovative day program services to adults with developmental disabilities. Arch members created paintings through a workshop with local artist Erik Visser, and 17 of their works were selected for the exhibit. Seventeen Edmonton poets have responded to the individual pieces. The poems will be on display beside the paintings that inspired them in the foyer of the Stanley A. Milner library throughout the month of April, National Poetry Month.

You can meet the artists and hear the poets read their work at the official opening ceremony:

Friday, April 8, 2011

Come down and join us for an evening of visual art and poetry.
